Ariba is the author of Faultline, a column that critically examines state power, displacement, and grassroots resistance in South Asia.

With ethics and behaviour being a major focus — she runs a Substack of her own, where she writes for her newsletter: Stories and States, and is the Operations Manager of the Asian Writers Collective. On the sidelines, Bakhtawar writes fiction, and is currently working on her debut novel exploring mental health, grief, and the systems that bank on it.

Hina Nayyab is a versatile professional with Master’s degrees in English Literature, International Relations, and Education. She has served as Head Office Coordinator of the Peace Group of Schools and Colleges, Principal of Aspire Grammar School in Islamabad, and former CEO of Baithak Restaurant, Abbottabad. Currently, she is a lecturer at Govt. Post Graduate College, Abbottabad. Outside the classroom, she enjoys reading in mountain cafés, often accompanied by coffee and her beloved pets.

Bazla and Hayat, two aerospace engineering students with a shared passion for history and a knack for questioning the status quo, discovered a disconnect when they came across individuals with distorted perceptions of self and culture. Intrigued by the root cause, they embarked on a two-month research project, fueled by late-night coffee discussions, intense debates, and moments of frustration. This journey resulted in an article that challenges the very fabric of their reality, blurring the lines between fact and fiction, much like the themes explored in their favorite book, 1984.
