Islamabad Police Claim Arrest in IIUI Student Murder, Activists Demand Evidence

Islamabad police announced the arrest of Feroz from Jhang, accused in the February murder of 22-year-old IIUI student Emaan Afroz at her hostel, citing video surveillance, sketches, and Safe City camera footage leading to his capture  . The suspect allegedly had a prior record including rape and motorcycle theft. While police assert a strong case, Aurat March Islamabad and Emaan’s family held protests, demanding transparent evidence and accountability from the hostel administration. Activists warned against attempts to silence them and stressed systemic change to protect women students.
