Punjab set for 25% higher monsoon rains this year, warns PDMA

The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has forecast a 25% increase in monsoon rainfall this year. Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, and other northern cities are expected to receive heavy rains starting in early July, raising flood risks. The PDMA has directed all departments to stay on high alert and ensure preventive measures are in place. Citizens have also been advised to remain cautious, especially near rivers and low-lying areas, as preparations intensify for potential emergencies.
