CM Maryam Nawaz Rolls Out Mobile Montessori Schools Across Punjab

Jarida Report

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched a new “Montessori on Wheels” program aimed at bringing early childhood education directly to children in remote and underserved areas. These mobile schools—set up inside buses—will provide young kids access to quality Montessori-style learning right at their doorsteps.

At the same event, the CM also announced Punjab’s first official school transport service for public schools, making it easier for students in far-off areas to attend classes regularly.

To boost morale and performance, Maryam Nawaz introduced ‘Teacher of the Month’ and ‘School of the Month’ awards based on discipline, teaching quality, labs, and overall environment.

The education reform plan also includes big expansions: building 10,000 early childhood classrooms, setting up 6,000 STEM labs, reopening Nawaz Sharif Centres of Excellence with more students, and constructing hundreds of toilet blocks for girls’ schools. She also spoke about introducing school meal programs and using Google-based English tools to improve students’ speaking skills.

With student enrollment nearly doubling and thousands of teachers hired in the past year, the initiative signals a major push to improve public education in Punjab.
