Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, said India is “doubling down” on proxy warfare following its clear defeat by Pakistan in early May. Speaking at the 271st Corps Commanders’ Conference in Rawalpindi on July 10, he explained that after failing in direct strikes—like the Operation Sindoor offensive—India has increasingly resorted to supporting terror proxies, referred to by military officials as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan.
Munir hailed Pakistan’s decisive response during the four-day conflict—specifically Operation Bunyan‑um‑Marsoos—as a demonstration of its military readiness and a rebuff to India’s “hegemonic ambitions”.He reaffirmed the army’s commitment to wiping out terrorist networks backed by India and pledged to prioritize national security and stability.
In his closing remarks, the COAS warned India against using third-party excuses or casting blames—especially touching on water disputes—and said Pakistan will respond “surely and decisively” to any future provocations.
