The Community Task Foundation (CTF), an international non-profit organization, termed access to clean drinking water one of the fundamental human rights, and urged the authorities to provide free water to the general public.
“We are working through our Saaf Paani Project to ensure availability of potable but free water to everyone,” Aena Naseer, program manager of the Community Task Foundation, told Jarida Today after concluding awareness campaign in Lahore’s Barkat Market area.
The organizers arranged three roadside awareness campaigns in Liberty Market, Kalma Chowk, and Barkat Market where they distributed free water to people in these vicinities. On the occasion, the CTF volunteers distributed pamphlets among the people.

“We are convinced that at least water should be free for everyone in every nook and corner of Pakistan. Our government, especially policymakers, must introduce a policy to provide clean drinking water to everyone,” the volunteers reflected while distributing water and brochures.
On the last day camp in Barkat Market, a lot of people from different walks of life joined the camp, and appreciated efforts of the Community Task Foundation that is currently working in Lahore’s Taxali area with a focus on education, health, and skill development, besides clean drinking water.
“Our main goal is to support the most vulnerable communities in Lahore by providing school supplies and financial assistance, with the aim of creating a better future,” the program manager said. “Our Chairman Mr Jairus Ben Jesus aims to create a community where no one is left behind, and where all people have an opportunity to succeed, regardless of their origins,” she said.
Jarida Today Chief Executive Officer Ghulam Mujtaba Murala visited the camp in Barkat Market, and appreciated efforts and vision of the Community Task Foundation. Speaking with the volunteers, he urged the private sector, and development section organizations to support healthy activities of these young volunteers. He appreciated efforts of the Punjab Police, and expressed his gratitude to the law-enforcement agencies for providing fool-proof security at the site.

Ghulam Mujtaba Murala was all-appraise for the initiative taken by the Community Task Foundation, and vowed to provide support to this New York-based organization in its future endeavors in Lahore, and other parts of Pakistan. Center for Peace and Secular Studies Executive Director Saeeda Diep also visited the camp and appreciated efforts of the young volunteers. She expressed her willingness to collaborate with the foundation in an effort to bring about a positive change in the society.
“I believe that the vision and leadership of our chairman continues to inspire our work and drive us forward,” Muhammad Ahmad Abid Hussain, one of the volunteers, told Jarida Today. He said that the Saaf Paani Project focuses not only on short-term assistance but also creating a lasting impact to ensure that everyone has access to clean water.
Led by Chairman Jairus Ben Jesus, the Community Task Foundation is a Lahore-based non-profit organization focused on improving the living standards of marginalized communities. “Our initiatives cover a variety of areas such as education, health, legal aid, and vocational training, all with goal of empowering people and promoting long-lasting development,” Aena Naseer told Jarida Today.
