Illegal Pet Lion Escapes, Injures Woman and Two Children in Lahore Street

An 11-month-old male lion escaped from an unlicensed farmhouse in Lahore’s Johar Town on the night of July 3, jumping a wall and chasing down a woman and two children in the street  . The lion knocked the woman to the ground, then clawed the children—aged five and seven—severely but none are in critical condition; they were taken to Jinnah Hospital  . Police arrested three suspects, including the owner, within 12 hours. The lion was seized and sent to a wildlife park. Authorities reiterated that keeping big cats illegally is a non-bailable offense under the Wildlife Act
