Peshawar Police Step Up Security Ahead of Ashura Observances

In anticipation of the upcoming Ashura commemorations, Peshawar police have been placed on high alert throughout Muharram. Security measures include rigorous vehicle inspections at all city entry and exit points, CCTV and drone surveillance of procession routes and worship venues, and the establishment of special checkpoints. A flag march with armoured personnel, bomb disposal teams, and female officers was conducted. Traffic authorities have planned coordinated controls to ensure smooth movement. Religious groups have also pledged interfaith harmony, urging community vigilance on social media to support peaceful observance  .
