Sindh Human Rights Commission Orders Inquiry into Abduction and Forced Conversion of Minor Hindu Girl in Badin

On July 3, 2025, the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) took suo motu notice of allegations that a 15-year-old Hindu girl named Shahneela was abducted at gunpoint in Matli, Badin district, forced into marriage, and coerced to convert to Islam  . Two armed men reportedly entered her home and took her in a vehicle. The SHRC has invoked Pakistan’s penal code and child-marriage statutes, directing authorities to recover the girl, investigate the crime under Sections 365-B, 364-A, and 506 of the PPC, and file a detailed report by July 7, 2025
