Teenage Couple Found Dead in Suspected Joint Suicide in Mirpurkhas

A 17-year-old girl and her close-in-age boyfriend were discovered hanging from a tree in Ghulam Rasool Shah village, Kot Ghulam Mohammad taluka, Mirpurkhas, early Sunday morning. Anita Solangi and Lekhraj Mal, both residents of the same village, reportedly took their lives by suicide, although no clear motive has emerged yet. Authorities noted that their interfaith relationship—Anita was Muslim and Lekhraj Hindu—had been accepted by both families. The bodies were sent for post-mortem and then handed over to their families.
